Nucleus: The Nuclear and Caithness Archive is closed from 17th March 2020 until further notice due to guidance from the Scottish and UK Governments. This archive is located at Wick Airport, containing archives of both the civil nuclear industry as well as those related to historical records in Caithness County since 1469. The nuclear industry’s record date back over seventy years with plans, drawings, photographs, films microfiche and documents previously held across sites like Dounreay in Caithness Harwell in Oxfordshire Trawsfynydd in Snowdonia Sellafieldin Cumberria now relocated for preservation into Nucleus where they are available for public research on family history or local matters including old maps of county.
