Isle Of Eigg
Eigg is an emerald-like island lying off the west coast of Scotland’s Highlands. It has three distinct wildlife reserves, with its first being a massive rock formation known as Sgurr and the moorland between it and its north-west coast that are kept short by Atlantic gales. The second reserve encompasses slopes under cliffs edging Beinne Bhuide plateau, mostly covered in hazel scrub which have been present on Eigg for thousands of years. And lastly, there’s also a small third area consisting mainly of willow and hazel scrub plus what is believed to be the largest extent of raised bog on this kidney shaped landmass measuring 5 miles by 3 miles with fewer than one hundred inhabitants! Popular amongst walkers, birdwatchers & botanists alike; visitors can get here via Mallaig or Arisaig passenger ferries – though cars cannot accompany them due to restrictions. Private ferry runs daily except Thursdays from Arisaig (9 miles south from Mallaig) during summer months & passengers may stop at sightings along their journey such as whales or dolphins! Accommodation available upon arrival too if desired so come visit today!!
