Kernunos
Kernunos is a unique and specialized workshop located in the Knockan Crag area of the Scottish Highlands. They specialize in crafting handmade Sgian-Dubhs, a traditional Scottish Highland blade, with a passion for Celtic, Pictish, and Viking art. Not only that, but they also create custom hand-carved horns, ensuring that every piece they create is entirely unique.
Gabriel Moyne, the artist and knife maker behind Kernunos, takes great care in every aspect of his craft, from forging to file work patterns. Each blade features recognisable “K” marks, ensuring that every piece is authentic and one of a kind. The blades are guaranteed to be sharp and ready to use.
Kernunos offers an array of superior woods to choose from, including Bog Oak and Snakewood, as well as other fine-grain Burl woods. This allows you to create a truly beautiful piece that is still practical enough for everyday use.
In addition to their range of Sgian-Dubhs, Kernunos also offers a selection of drinking and blowing horns. These horns are available in a variety of sizes, from shooters up to 3 pints, and can be purchased blank or carved with Celtic, Pictish, and Viking designs. These designs are inspired by George Bain’s runes stones and museum artefacts, adding a unique touch to every piece.
