Brodie Castle
Brodie Castle is a grand 16th-century castle that was the ancestral home of the Brodie clan for over 400 years. It is cared for by The National Trust of Scotland and has many attractions including art collections, decorative ceilings, fine furniture and beautifully landscaped gardens. In addition to these features there are also an adventure playground, nature trail with observation hides perfect for wildlife viewing as well as a walled garden and Pictish monument known locally as ‘Rodney’s Stone’. There’s even said to be nearby small hill called ‘Macbeth’s Hillock’, where Shakespearean hero Macbeth once encountered his famous Weird Sisters! The Playful Garden offers something special – it’s great family attraction located just near the historic castle. Start your journey at their longhouse-style visitor centre before following white rabbits from the car park out into this unique area full of quirky characters connected to this striking location which has been inhabited by Clan Brodie since 1567! See what changes have happened throughout time on this estate; explore its rooms containing priceless antiques or climb up into mini versions of castles before finishing off in one its two playgrounds (woodland or soft play) free to enjoy anytime!
