The site was carefully chosen for its access to clear spring water and abundant peat from the surrounding bogs. Set amidst stunning mountain scenery at the heart of Cairngorm National Park, Dalwhinnie is Scotland’s highest distillery, sitting at 1164 feet above sea level. Its Gaelic name, meaning “meeting place,” refers to the ancient cattle drovers’ routes through the mountains.
