Glencripesdale
Glencripesdale National Nature Reserve is located on the remote shores of Loch Sunart, combining woodland, shoreline, heaths and moorland. This beautiful reserve offers a rich reward for those who make the long walk in – wild flowers carpeting the floor of its oak woodlands while moss hangs from trees like that found in tropical rainforests. It also provides an excellent spot to watch out for otters as well as information panels along its rocky shoreline. To get there you’ll need to turn off A884 at Liddesdale until reaching a public road and informal parking area with entry then via five-mile track (no vehicles allowed) which leads down towards waymarked right of way trail running through most parts of this stunning nature reserve.
