Historylinks Museum
Historylinks Museum is a local history museum located in Dornoch. Our mission to keep the Dornoch Story alive is fulfilled through exciting permanent and temporary exhibitions, children’s activities and guided walks. Our friendly staff are always there to help! The museum offers accessible car parking facilities on site as well as a tie up area for dogs (assistance dogs allowed) with water bowl outside in the garden. The permanent exhibition showcases some of Dornoch’s incredible history such as its cathedral, feuding clans, Scotland’s last alleged witch burning incident and Picts & Vikings’ treachery & violence. Temporary exhibitions change annually giving visitors something new each time they come back! Children can enjoy quizzes, Young Curators challenge interactive puzzles plus Viking dressing up! And our popular films – The Dornoch Light Railway & Links Through History run on loop throughout the day so everyone will find something interesting here at Historylinks including picnic seating available within their relaxing garden area. Guided historical walks of Doch also occur every Tuesday afternoon from June-August at 2pm costing £5 per person – accompanied children free – but please contact museum ahead to book your spot today!.
