Inverness Botanic Gardens
Entry is free at the Inverness Botanical Gardens, Nursery & Secret Garden. This tranquil oasis provides a break from city life amidst beautiful formal gardens, ponds, tropical house, cactus house and wild flower meadow. The secret garden or G.R.O.W project has been run by adults with special needs for over 20 years transforming an area of waste ground into an amazing productive space; everything within it adheres to its aims: Garden Recycle Organic Wildlife (GROW). Visitors can explore a range of techniques from vertical gardening to innovative composting as well as traditional plant pots and old boot planters in amongst wildflower meadows fruit cages vegetable beds herb gardens and bug hotels – something for everyone! Refreshments are available such as teas coffees tray bakes ice cream lunches soup and scones all sourced locally where possible including plants grown by our staff or trainees on the Garden Project for Adults With Special Needs – sales offset costs keeping admission free! Weddings ceremonies can also be held here along with photography while meetings training sessions can take place in our meeting room which accommodates up to thirteen people daily hire basis only– making this unique botanic garden venue truly worth visiting when exploring Inverness!
