Loch a’ Mhuilinn
This reserve is home to the last remaining native oak woodland in the northernmost part of Britain. The strong westerly winds have impacted the oaks, causing some to grow in a low, creeping form near the sea. In addition to the oak woodland, Loch a’ Mhuilinn features a variety of habitats including grasslands, peat bogs, freshwater, and seashores that provide an ideal environment for a diverse range of wildlife species.
