Ridgway Adventure

The Ridgway family has been running adventure courses and holidays for all ages in Ardmore since 1969. Activities include sea kayaking, hillwalking, family adventures and summer camps. We specialize in family summer adventure holidays that are small – only two or three families together at a time! Climb mountains, explore secluded sea lochs teeming with wildlife while learning survival skills like foraging wild food from the shoreline. Kids get to put their new found knowledge into practice by spending an overnight on an uninhabited island! We also offer adult sea kayaking/hillwalking holidays based either from our Adventure School or one of our crofts at Ardmore where you’ll enjoy comfy rooms and delicious home cooking surrounded by like-minded people. Kayak around remote coves & bays populated with nesting birds, seals & otters then return each day to relax over tea & freshly baked goods before heading off again the next morning! If you want it all we can arrange both activities during your stay as well – just let us know what you need so we can keep things personalised yet fun!. For those who don’t have much time but still wish to experience this beautiful area Rebecca runs single-day Sea Kayaking trips throughout the week; learn paddling basics along sheltered lagoons home to plenty of local wildlife such as seals & otters before coming back afterwards for hot showers followed up by some tasty baking treats :). Lastly there’s Summer Camps which young folks (8yrs+) come from near + far join in on real mountain/sea adventuring action under experienced guidance led alongside new friends :) A weeks’ worth 1hr away from Inverness or Ullapool respectively depending on age groups — more info is available via website/call/email direct too… That’s it :)
