Highland Wildcat Trail Black

The Highland Wildcat Trails are set in a stunning coastal location in Golspie, above the Dornoch Firth. Featuring the longest freeride descent from Ben Bhraggie (1300′ to sea-level) and the longest technical singletrack climb, this is an exceptionally physically demanding route for expert mountain bikers. The trails have been designed with riders of all abilities in mind and range from blue family/novice trails through mixed woodland to more challenging red & black graded sections through conifer woods and open hill at higher elevation. At ‘Stone Circle’, you can choose whether to stay within the forest on ‘Treeline’ or take on one of Britain’s most difficult technical climbs over 0.5km featuring tight switchback corners surrounded by stone slabs, which rewards you with tremendous views upon reaching its summit at junction point between ‘Black Lynx’ and outward contour trail atop Ben Bhraggie’s peak. After saddling down for a fast ride round big berms followed by a scree section that’ll put your full suspension skills into practice; further challenges await as natural rock paving awaits across an array of bridges, jumps and drop offs culminating into an impressive 20m wooden bridge flyover that crosses above footpaths before plunging towards ‘Run The Gauntlet’ – be sure not dab when tempted! Short steep rock rolls lead down onto Pete’s Step Up Stone before emerging at Valhalla – just make sure you know your limits so no serious consequences arise if failure occurs on bigger features!
