Highland Wildlife Park Detailed Information

Highland Wildlife Park offers a unique experience to witness the diverse range of Scottish wildlife and also endangered animals from mountain and tundra regions across the globe. The park is situated 7 miles south of Aviemore at Kincraig and is a perfect day trip for people of all ages. You can observe amazing native species such as pine marten, wildcat, red deer, as well as creatures from Scotland’s past like wolves, lynx, beavers, and horses. This has been made possible by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s efforts to expand the species collection to support their mission towards conservation efforts.

Apart from the remarkable Scottish animals, you also get an opportunity to meet exotic creatures like Amur tigers, snow monkeys, red pandas, Bactrian camels, polar bears, Victoria, the only female polar bear in the entire country, and two male polar bears, Arktos and Walker. Hamish, the first cub born in the park 25 years ago, is also a must-see.

Explore the park on your own vehicle or join daily feeding talks guided by animal keepers. You can also book Landrover tours starting June 2020, following the government guidelines. The Landrover tours provide an opportunity to see the park in a unique way and learn more about the animals from expert guides. The tour is perfect for those who wish to delve deeper into the wildlife’s habits and behaviors.

Highland Wildlife Park is not just about viewing animals but also a chance to learn about conservation efforts and how we can help to protect these beautiful creatures. It’s a great educational experience for children, and the park offers various programs for schools to make the visit even more meaningful.

Don’t forget to visit the gift shop, where you can find souvenirs to take home, including cute soft toys and books about the park’s animals. The restaurant offers delicious food and drinks, perfect for a quick break before continuing your exploration of the park.
